A Very British Armageddon 1. Revelations |
The End is nigh...
In the dying days of the 20th Century, two friends drink Absinthe in the bars of Lerwick, unaware Britain is doomed. Two Great Comets and an Eclipse were warnings to all who believed the fool Copernicus, Nostradamus knew it and Old Mother Shipton foresaw it. Newton should have stuck to the alchemy but the hippy DOS programmers were right, no one is going to need dates ending 00. Before flying home the friends visit one last attraction, a hole under ancient stones. Elsewhere, payment is made, a little early, on an ancient contract and planes will fall out of the sky. The friends emerge to discover the world, as they knew it, has gone. Fortunately Fate, the Norns, or perhaps The Lady Herself knew the pair would be needed and put them together to discover, that there will always be an Albion for them to save.
However, their mysterious benefactor has a sense of humour
the two friends are
Arthur and Merlin
and this will be...
a very British armageddon. |

A modern day romp with mythological creatures of all types
Beautifully crafted fight scenes and well described fay creatures take you deep into the lost folk lore of this Sceptred isle. The characters are well written and likeable and the facts are well researched and I for one am looking forward to the sequel(s). If you like your fantasy with a pint of ale then this book is well worth the tiny price.

The Omega man (men) meets Alice in Wonderland v all types of monsters
The book starts quite sedately with our two heroes visiting an underground cavern beneath some ancient stones, when they emerge the world as they knew it no longer exists. We then dive headlong into a perilous journey to Lundy island where they believe they will be saved, along the way every type of creature you can imagine (friend and foe) rear their ugly (and sometimes beautiful) heads. Let your imagination run wild, read 'a very British armageddon' you won't be disappointed. |
